Post [Question-means] not matching the half-point

    Example.
The major banks have come under fire for not matching the half-point Bank of Canada rate drop announced yesterday.

    Question.
I don'w know well what the blue part means.

The Bank of Canada lowered (dropped) their interest rate by half a point (eg. from 6.0 % to 5.5 %). The major banks didn't, that is, they didn't match (equal, follow) the Bank of Canada's drop.
