    Default use of high/tall

Can you say: How high is the pyramid/mountain? Or must you say: How tall is the pyramid/mountain.
I saw this in an English teaching book.

    I'd use 'high' there.

    In addition,

Use high to decribe elevation, and use tall to describe height.

How high is that mountain? (OK; What's its elevation?)
How tall is that mountain? (Odd; What's its height?)

How high is that guy? (Odd; What's his elevation?)
How tall is that guy? (OK: What's his height?)

    Exception
Building-like structure: How tall is that pyramid? (OK; What's its height?)
Mountain-like structure: How high is that pyramid? (OK;What's its elevation?)
