An unexpected result in Hong Kong lawmaking council. The Hong Kong lawmakers passed a bill of financial aid for the neigbour city's rebuild project. The Democratic party was expected to reject the bill as they declared that it was inappropriate to shell out taxpayers'money for the financial support, but was forced to back pedal after a storm of criticism and hundreds of protests on their base, blaming them for cruelty to the compatriots. The public welcomed the law and hoped the democratic camp could learn a lesson. "They shouldn't overlook majority's opinion",a child said. But at least the turn-back decision has salvaged Democrats'popularity and shaked off their unpatriotic reputation which would cause a landslide defeat in the coming election 3 weeks away.
