Default American letter writers, how do you address a letter to the President-Elect & family?

I was asked this question and am not sure what the correct form for all of them would be. Do you say Dear Mr. President-Elect, First Lady-Elect and family or what? Can she be the First Lady-Elect or is she known as Mrs. Obama for a couple of months? Do you have to repeat -Elect? Is there a proper protocol to follow? (If so, can I have the URL too?)

    Many thanks

    I'd say it would be:

    Dear President-Elect and Mrs. Obama,

    That's what I'd say.

I think she's not the First Lady-elect because she was not elected. I think she's just called "The future first lady" and her title remains "Mrs."

I'm sure there are people in Washington, DC, who know this for sure, though.

It would be the same as for addressing a Dr. and his/her spouse or any official.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Smith and family.

Dear Mayor and Mrs. Jones and family
