    didn't deliver?

    hay,

    is there an idiom or a slang phrase saying: "it didn't deliver"
    meaning that something didn't stand up to the expectations?

    Yes there is.
    "We thought putting a coffee machine in the waiting room would reduce complaints about waiting time, but it didn't deliver."

    PS: Hay makes a horse fat.
