    contractions

My granddaughter was asked to name the six contractions ending in 're. We could only think of you're, we're, they're. I found another what're. What are the other two?

How're you doing on that? Who're you hoping can answer?

    (I don't think that "what're, how're, and who're" are very common, however.)

    (Not a teacher)

How about 're contractions with "how" and "why?" These are used in informal speech but I don't know if they are accepted in formal English.

Don't forget "these're a few of my favorite things..."

    (I would never write that.)
