The age of Information Technology has taken a lot of people by surprise. While it has become a way of life for some, others know very little about it and may be unlikely to learn .Eventually we will have a polarized society and this will lead to serious social problems.
To what extent do you agree with this statement?
Modern era is era of information technology. Advances in information technology have taken humans to space to explore its wonders and on earth it has became a way of life for some, for example with the use of computer and mobile technology. On the other hand some have very little knowledge of and access to the use of modern technology. Eventually this will lead to a polarized society causing serious problems.
Use of modern technology especially information technology has brought great ease to life. Use of computer technology, for example, has become an integral part of some people’s lives. There are many implementations of computers, for instance in fields of education, medicine, business and research. Similarly other parts of information technology like mobile technology and high-tech aero planes have shortened distances and made the world global village.
But if we see the other side of the picture it is very dark .There are some areas in the world which are still underdeveloped. The main reason for this is poverty. An unprivileged class of humans has no or little knowledge about information technology .They suffer from natural calamities like droughts, floods and earthquakes. They are starving and this is leading to a polarized society. This polarization will cause serious social problems like frustration which has very serious consequences.
As a conclusion the latest technologies are accessed by rich or privileged class of humans and the poor are deprived .It is the responsibility of rich countries and people to bring justice to societies and as the United Nations charter says “All human are equal” so they should be treated with equality and justice
