    getting a piercing/tattoo

He wants to pierce his ears = get a piercing in his ears
He wants to tattoo his chest = get a tattoo on his chest
What synonyms for get can I use in the sentences above? Are they as commonly used as get?

    Re: getting a piercing/tattoo

You don't commonly "get" a piercing. You simply "pierce your ears." You then go out and "get pierced earrings."

You do "get" a tattoo. Or "he got tattooed." You can dress it up if you wish ("He emblazoned his nether regions with a tattoo") but "get" or "got" a tattoo is still the most common.
