    Default not finding any...

    Can you please explain the exact meaning of the following sentences( the red parts) ? Thanks in advance.( it is about an old city Caral found in Peru)

    1. For two months, Shady searched for the broken remains of pots and containers. Not finding any only made her more excited;it ment Caral could be what archaologists call, preceramic. She concluded that Caral predated Olmec settlement to the north by 1000 years.

    2. This data pushed back the oldest known dates for an urban center in the Americas by more than 1000 years.

    3. A ring of platform pyramids contains a large amphitheater.

    4. What was it about the desert landscape of Peru's Supe valley that caused a complex, hierarchial to flourish there?

    Not finding any only made her more excited; Shady did not find any pots or containers, and became excited because she could not find any.

    Caral predated Olmec settlement to the north by 1000 years; Caral existed 1,000 years before the Olmec civilization to its north.


    This data pushed back the oldest known dates for an urban center in the Americas by more than 1000 years; The new data implies that the oldest urban center in the Americas began 1,000 years earlier than originally thought (if scholars believed urban centers began in 2,000 BC, then the new data suggests that they began 3,000 BC -- these years are for example only)
