    Default adjective

    Hello everyone,

Would you please help me find ONE adjective (not a too common one) which might fit in the two following sentences.

Julia was a handsome, courageous, and ………… woman.

Julia was a handsome, courageous, but ………… woman.

If you think it’s impossible to find one, would you please give me two adjectives that would fit in these sentences but again adjectives that are not too common.

    Many thanks.

    Hello Natalie,

Thank you for your tips, but what does "talk about fancy" mean?

    All the best.

I was referring to your request of something less common/fancy for your example.

Thanks, Francois. If I have problems writing the word, I hate to ask how it's supposed to be pronounced in French...
(btw. I love French, too bad I don't know any...).

the 'e' in 'imper' is pronounced more or less like 'hair'
    the 'u' ... like 'student'
    the 'a' ... like 'dad'.
'ble' is pronounced like in 'blame', ont 'table'.
    The accent is on 'ba'.
There's the terrible 'r' too, that many English speakers can't pronounce I don't think it would prevent someone from understand the word here though.

Thanks Francois! I think this "r" is called a rolling "r"...otherwise known (between you and me) as "R" the terrible! I am sure it's more terrible for me than it is for you... But that's one thing among others that makes the language sound so pretty!
