Default how to solve this question?

How we can solve a problem in a language and put a rule for it?
for example, like this question. they give us some sort of data for a language to solve the problem. I couldn't put the data because the file attachment has a large space.

In Saudi Arabic, a stop assimilates to a following fricative, as shown in the phrases
    below:
    a. Write in prose the rule(s) that account for the alternations seen in these phrases.
    b. What is the underlying representation of the [W] at the end of the word that means
‘fish’ in the phrase that means ‘Khaled’s fish’? To answer this, present the underlying
representation of that segment as (1) an underspecified feature matrix and (2) an
    underspecified feature tree.

    Look for patterns:

    Doing Phonology Problems

The basic steps in doing phonology problems are:
    1. Look for minimal pairs (If yes, then both sounds are phonemes)
    2. Look for alternations in the pronunciation of one morpheme
    3. List the environments for the different pronunciations
    4. Find the part of the environment that predicts the change in pronunciation
    5. Make a mind and mouth diagram
    6. Write the rule (in words, then in symbols)
    7. Check to see that the rule works
See examples click here (Scroll down to "Exercise 7.3")
