Within a few minutes of what?

instead of 'qwithin a few minutes' using 'immediately' would be correct word

    and

took / taken , what difference it makes to the meaning of the sentence

    Regards,

    Re: Kindly check for grammar

The phrase "within a few minutes" is generally used this way:
Within a few minutes of A happening, B happened.

    or

B happened within a few minutes of A happening.
    Immediately:
    B happened immediatly after A.
