    Question corporate?

He may be the kind of guy you wouldn't ordinarily think twice about—cautious, colorless and corporate. In the past he has often lost the spotlight to other world leaders with bigger egos and sharper elbows.
Hi! Could you please tell me what 'corporate' means? I don't find a suitable entry for this context from my dictionary. Thanks!

    corporate

    adj.
#1 Formed into a corporation; incorporated.
Of or relating to a corporation:
    corporate assets; corporate culture.
#2 United or combined into one body; collective:
made a corporate effort to finish the job.
    #3 Corporative.

my guess is ''common'', ''ordinary'', ''having nothing special''.
    just a student.

    Hi Jctgf,

Thank you for your reply. I agree with you.

Why isn't there a definition close to it?

I hope someone else could also give me a hand.

There is no specific definition giving this, but in the context it would be understood that this person lacks individuality.

When someone is "corporate" it means he follows all the rules - socially and personally - of a person working for a corporation. He does what he is supposed to do in the situation he is in. He does not veer from how things are done in the corporate business world.

The opposite would be "adventurous or entreprenurial."

    Anglika and Susiedqq:

    Thank you for your replies.

Is this meaning of "corporate" usual in English-speaking countries?

Yes, it's used quite often, even when describing corporate fashion.

It's like the "rock scene", (attitude, fashion, language, behavior) only more boring.
