Possibly I did not depict the problem correctly. Here please consider more detailed explanation:
Phonons are characterized by quantity called wave-vector which is symbolized by q.
Quantity q changes in some range e.g. 0<q<p.
And I want to say that phonons from within q<a range (where 0<a<p) have some specific properties.
So this is the context, because there are different possibilities to express the same idea and I want to choose the correct one for my very context:
Phonons from within q<a range
Phonons from q<a range
Phonons from range q<a
Phonons in the range q<a
I know that “in the range q<a” sometimes is used, but in my opinion that construct is not in exact logical coherence with idea, intended to be expressed in other parts of the paper I am working over, to focus the attention of the reader and make perception as clear as possible.
In the article I am currently working at the mentioned construct have to be repeated for 15-20 times, that is why I need help to choose correct frames of usage not to have problems with editor in future.
