    Default Verb+ing , verb + infinitive

    Dear teachers, Members and Friends!
I wish you a happy new year 2009.

    1. He kept on interrupting while I was speaking.

    2. We decided not to go out beacuse of the weather.

Could please explain why we write these sentences two fashion different?

    Thank you in advance.

I think it's something to be memorized as it is. You can hardly find any explanation for it in present day English.

    2. We decided not to go out beacuse of the weather.

You could also say; 'We decided on not going out, because of the weather.'
