    hip character

    Hi

Does "hip character" mean that he/she wears fashionable clothes?

For example: When we arrived we found Adam to be this pretty hip character.

    Cheers!

    Re: hip character

It sounds very dated. I don't think we say "a hip character" any more.

It means he is "cool." Look up "hip" in a slang dictionary, and you'll probably find more slang - with it, happening, etc. He is someone who is on the exciting edge of the social scene.
