    Default Grand

    1. I have ten grand. ('grand' is plural right?)
    For this:
    2. I have half a grand. (Is this incorrect?)
    3. I have half grand. (Or this is correct?

If #2 is incorrect, is it because of this:
    4. I have 2 apples. (correct)
    5. I have half a apples. (Incorrect. So for 'grand' which is plural, is it that's why #2 is incorrect?)

    Is this correct?
    1. Is it that's why #2 is incorrect? (This question sounds awkward. If it is incorrect, how can I repair it?)

  2. #2

'Grand' is slang, but 1 and 2 are both correct.
    1. I have ten grand. Here, 'grand' is plural.
    2. I have half a grand. Here, 'grand' is singular.

    Thanks.

    What about this?
    1. Is it that's why #2 is incorrect? (Is this question correct? It sounds awkward. How can I fix it?)
    2. Is this why #2 is incorrect? (This is correct right?)

    Incorrect.

    2. Is this why #2 is incorrect?
    Correct.

Alternatively, "Is that why #2 is incorrect?"
