    What does "Mere words" mean?

I have a problem finding proper meaning of "mere words".
    The sentence is below.

    Mere words are not enough.

    Would you explain this sentence?

Re: What does "Mere words" mean?

    Dear Hazar:

The sentence means 'Words alone are not enough; action, too, is required.'

Mere means only that which is referred to, so 'mere words' means 'words alone'.

    Best wishes,
