    Default Intensive course

    Hello everyone,

Does anyone know where I can get information on how to conduct an intensive English course. I've never done one before.
The student is an engineer so I assume he will be a good intermediate.

    Thanks

    Jag

Before you can do much in the way of planning, you will need to find out his level, the length of time he will be studying and his objectives in some detail. Otherwise, you will not really be able to meet his exact needs. Have a look here for some ESP sites:

    Thanks Tdol,

This fella does contract work for Airbus. He mentioned in a short conversation that he goes to meetings every now and again which are held in English.
I'm trying to contact him at the moment to arrange for a meeting.
I'll let you know how I get on.

    Thanks

Well, he doesn't want an intensive course after all - too busy - and he's forgotten a lot of his English. It's a mess. He basically wants to understand what is said at international meetings. He said that there are interpreters at the meetings but he doesn't put on the headphones because nobody else does

Anyway, I'm going to start him on elementary to help him remember and take it from there. I'm also from an engineering background so he was very pleased with that.

The good thing about this is that he wants classes for the rest of the company.

    Cheers
