    Clarification

    I would like to know, why we don't use "AN" before the word "UNIFORM", though starts with alphabet U?

    Because the pronunciation is a yooniform. Just as it's an hour, despite the H, because it's pronounced an our.

    a uniform

    well, phonetically, uniform is pronounced [ju:niform]
