    to understand what's exactly meant by death march, please have a look at the following page:

    Now that you have a better idea what it means, you will see that your sentence contains some humor. It's as if you were to perform the death march yourself (an extremely torterous experience) so you should ask to be paid for every mile you have to walk the march.
