    Hi, are these sentences ok?

    1) before the arrival of Santa Claus I played cards
    2 before the arrival of Santa Claus I was playing cards

    2 Before the arrival of Santa Claus I was playing cards.

    Yes they are ok. Please try to remember to start sentences with a capital letter and finish them with a full stop.
