    When do I use as and when do I use like.

    Use 'like' with nominals (nouns, pronouns), and use 'as' with sentences:

    EX: It looks as if it is going to rain.
    EX: She looks like Sam.

    Use 'as...as' to show a comparison:

    EX: He looks as tall as you.
