    Default british language in america

I don't know if any British people read this forum, but I was wondering about how they are treated. What do people do when they hear your accent? I'm doing a presentation in my linguistics class about the use of British English in America, and would appreciate any input. Thanks.

The first question tends to be - what did you say?
