    entertainment section

    Hi

There was a song recorded by one guy and he said: The New York Times put the song on the cover of the entertainment section.

--- Does it mean that probably they wrote the lyrics of this song in the section of the newspaper describing funny stuff?

    Re: entertainment section

No. Entertainment implies any form of leisure pastime where one is enthralled, amused, enlightened or intrigued (and much more) by the performing arts.

But do you think they wrote the lyrics of the song there? And maybe it was funny that's why they decided to put it there.

    Re: entertainment section

The New York Times put the song on the cover of the entertainment section.

This simply means that an article or picture of the album was seen on the cover of the NY Times entertainment. Even if it was only mentioned on the cover, MANY people would have seen it. Perhaps there was an article within the newpaper section explaining more.

Think how you would feel to be featurred on the front page of a world-wide newspaper!
