    Unhappy adverb or adjective?

Hi, I am needing some help, so please I want to know about the usage of an adverb or an adjective. I mean, when do I have to use one or another? In what gramatical cases?
    For example.
    careful, carefully.
    slow, slowly. ,etc.
I will be grateful for any indication on this matter.

Adverbs go with verbs. Adjectives go with nouns.

    Re: adverb or adjective?

    adjectives describe Nouns
red car, big house, good man etc...

adverbs describe verbs (and usually but not always end in "ly")
drive slowly think carefully ...but work hard (not hardly)

    adverbs also describe adjectives
a really fast car, a bright red car, etc.
