    Dear all,

Could you please help me in understanding the meaning of amenable.

    1) If a disease is amenable to medication - does it imply that the disease now requires medication ?

    2) Furthermore, Meaning of amenable i found in dictionary is open to being acted upon in a certain way. what does it mean.

    Regards

    Re: Meaning of amenable

'amenable' means 'responding to/able to be controlled or influenced', so that a disease process will respond to/can be controlled by medication.

    Re: Meaning of amenable

Now my understanding says after reading the two responses that

Amenable means that a disease will respond to medication, if provided. Am I right.
