    Question ...carefully..?

    Hi!...help me here please.....which one is best: "Read the paragraph carefully" or "Read carefully the paragraph"...Thanks for your help!

    Dear Delapoma:

    In response to your question on the profile page:

    'Read the paragraph carefully' is the best answer, in my opinion, because the command is to 'read the paragraph'. How? 'Carefully'. Inserting 'carefully between 'read' and 'the paragraph' is distracting. One could also write 'Carefully read the paragraph.' But even that seems to distract from the main object, which is to ask the student to 'read the paragraph'.
