    Question To keep oneself to oneself

    Please explain this sentence : " I believe in keeping myself to myself" in the short story SIT IN THE SUN by Joanna Leyland. Thank a lot for your help.

    I've never read the story, but I would interpret it as meaning that I don't tell anyone much about myself, I keep it to myself.
    Does that make sense to you?
