    Post Set-expressions by Shakespeare

    I write a control work on History of Literary English and I need to search for meanings of some expressions used in literature. That's why i created this thread. I hope to find out the meaning of some set-expressions by Shakespeare.Hope you'll help me in this.

    Without this sort of reference, a thread like this could go on for ever. I saw The Taming of the Shrew last week, and kept recognizing expressions - used there probably for the first time - that were still part of everyday speech.
