Red face difference between to increase and to expand

Hi, how can one explain the difference between the verbs "to increase" and "to expand". I know that expands has to do with enlargement in size, volume and scope whereas increase has a broader meaning but what could be a better explanation of the difference between there 2 verbs?

    Thanks a lot!

Re: difference between to increase and to expand

Context would be the way to determine this, since they are very similar.

Here's an example of what I consider to show difference:

I can expand my business. (offer more products to sell)
I can increase my business. (make more sales)
