    Default In / Into

Are these correct? If not, why? What do these mean?

    1. I am in here.
    2. I am into here.

Jack, 2. is incorrect. 'into', aside from its colloquial usage, Be interested in e.g., I am into golfing, expresses motion or direction towards a point e.g., Get in(to) the cab; Cf. Put the letter in(to) the box; Put the letter in(side) the box.

    I have a question!

Why is 1) I'm in here & 2) I'm into here is incorrect?

Amy, 1) is correct, and if 2) is interpreted as 'interested in', then it's correct also, but if it's interpreted as 'movement towards here', then it's incorrect.

    1) I am in here. (I am inside here)
    2) I am into here. (I am moving in the direction of here) *Incorrect. If you're 'here', then you can't be moving towards here.)

    3) I am into here. (I am interested in here e.g., interested in this kind of bar)

    Hope that helps.
