John - there is no way we can answer that question without more information.

Where or how are you using the term, "franchise-record"?

    Dear John:

This term is often used in sports. For example if a sports franchise (ie, the New York Yankees) sets some kind of record (more season ticket holders than ever before, for example), it would be called a franchise record.

    Context?

On the other hand, if an outlet that was part of the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise sold more Family McBuckets [or whatever they're called] than any other such outlet, that also would be a franchise record. As susiedqq said, the words alone don't say a lot without a context.

I think Petra is saying that the expression actually does have a meaning and that she knows what it is.

    Sounded authoritative to me!

Now excuse me while I go have some french-fries and put on a record....

Hush my mouth I didn't mean that Petra wasn't probably right. I just meant that words don't just float out there in the ether wearing a badge that gives their unique and immutable meaning.
