    Default north

    Hi

So the opportunity arose to go into business with Apple selling U2 iPods, and they would use our first single to run their fall 2004 advertising campaign, for which they spent north of twenty million dollars for airtime around the world.

--- What does "north" mean? North America??? Maybe it's a typo?

To "spend north" of X$ is to spend more . . .to its highest amount.

It's an expression that means "more than" or the top amount, like $29,999.
