    student mistakes

    hi could anyone check these for me and let me know if i am doing them correct?...thnxs



    A. Correcting student mistakes.
    Each of the following sentences contains a mistake. For each one:
    - underline the mistake
    - write the correct version
    - write the explanation you would give to a student for the correction.








    1.A: Morning, what can I get you?
    B: I wonder if you would mind giving me a packet of Benson & Hedges.

    B. Could you give me a packet of Benson & Hedges.


    5.I not come to college everyday. I only come on Mondays and Fridays.
    I don't come to college everyday. I only come on Mondays and Fridays.
    I would write the sentence again for the student see, as:
    I ____ not come to college everyday. I only come on Mondays and Fridays.
    Explain to the student that there is a word missing.
    I do not come ...
    to make it short.
    I don't come to ...


    1.A: Have you seen John recently?
    B: Yes, I have seen him last week.

    B. Yes, I saw him last week.

    - seen is used in the past tense. The correct word is saw.
    Last week is something in the past.

    5. seems fine

    1.A: Have you seen John recently?
    B: Yes, I have seen him last week.

    B. Yes, I saw him last week.

    Check this:
    - seen – is used in the past tense. The correct word is saw.
    Last week is something in the past.

    Ask the student, when did you see John?

    last week?this week?today?

    Last week... is used when? in the past.

    Point to one of the classmates.

    Did you seen Carl last week in class?

    Ask another classmate.

    Can someone tell me if the sentence is right

    Repeat the question.

    Answer is then corrected by a fellow student or myself.

    Seen is a word to use in the past.
