    support from ...

    Hi

A member of the music band said: For us to get any kind of support from the rock 'n' roll counter-culture, which is obsessed by underground music, was extremely gratifying. And then to see it translate and capture the imagination of the current generation of record buyers en masse was very exciting. The big prize for us has always been to stay relevant, so it felt like vindication. We went on TV quite a lot. We wanted to get out there and meet people where they were, not where we had left them last time around.

--- I'm just interested in the first sentence. I understand that their new record was bought by people who didn't like rock and roll, who only listened to the underground music. So the members of the band felt pleased about it, and of course it was also bought by many other people who collect records (probably the records of this particular band).

    Dear Guest:

Basically, yes. However, the "rock 'n' roll counterculture" does like rock 'n' roll, but only of a certain kind that they consider less commercial than mainstream rock.

    Best wishes,

    Petra
