    The different...

    I want to know about the different between good evening and good night. Is it true godd night we say before leaving a place at night?

    "Good evening" is both a greeting and a farewell.
    "Good night" is only a farewell, or said to another when one of you is going to sleep.

    "Good night" is only a farewell, or said to another when one of you is going to sleep.

    I'd add a bit:
    "Good night" is only a farewell, and said to another/others when you are parting at some point in the evening, and to others in the same house when you are going to bed.

    Not quite. BobK was correcting your grammar: "You wanted to know the difference", or "You wanted to know what makes them different."

    "Good night" is a farewell, and said to another/others when (1) you are parting at some point in the evening, and (2) to others in the same house when you are going to bed. Not just, It is when one is going to sleep.
