    close

    Can one say:
    a. He came close to me.
    meaning he came up to me; he approached me.

    b- He went close to him.
    meaning he went beside him

    c. He ran close to him.
    meaning he ran up to him, he went beside him by running.

    d. He walkd close to him.
    meaning he walked up to him.

    I know c&d might mean that he was running or walking alongside him.

    In all cases it means that he was in near proximity to you at all times.
