    Default For buying

Can I leave out the "being able to" in the following sentence?

They are poor. So their kids have to work for (being able to) buying something to eat.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Sunshine

[1] They are poor, so their kids have to work for (being able to) buying something to eat.

[2] They are poor, so their kids have to work if they want (to be able) to buy something to eat.
