    Unhappy asking directions

    Ant tips or advice regarding teaching ESL students how to give/receive directions?

    Divide the students in groups. Have the groups choose a location on a map, preferably a map of the town or city they are in, and have the groups give directions to another group on how to get to the location. Give points to groups that makes it to there destination.

    You could also do this with a floor map (use photos for landmarks; have students write their addresses on A4 sheets of paper, have them place these on the floor map, and then have the students walk around and give each other directions to their homes.
