    How are you?

What is the difference between (1) and (2)?

1, If you need help, give me a call.
2, When you need help, give me a call.

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: if/when

In the second case, the speaker expects that the listener will need help eventually; in the first, s/he is unsure whether help will ever be required.
