Is there a term to call "learning words through viewing pictures"?

    Dear Teachers:

Is there a term to call "learning words through viewing pictures"?

I myself thought of "visual absorption," but it seems to mean another thing.
I also read the introduction page of my visual dictionary for clues, but the editors made no mention of the term.

    Please shed some light.

    Best Regards,
