    I prefer cats to dogs.
Look, for Nouns and Gerunds, we use "To" in between...while for verbs we use "Rather than",
So: I prefer cats to dogs.
I prefer feeding cats to walking dogs.
I prefer to feed cats rather than (to) walk dogs.
    Hope this helps...

Just a question, are the other options wrong, or are they just less used?

    You're welcome mate,
As far as you're considering standard English this is your only option...

    to!

'Than' is non-native error and 'over' is slang!

The UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, stated in a written parliamentary
answer 10 days ago, that that option was preferred over a five-member
    international panel.
