    ...-oriented... vs. ...-orientated...

    Hello,

    and may I ask your opinion on the following:

    "...a hobby-oriented forum..."
    "...a hobby-orientated forum..."

    Which of the above is correct? If both (my spellchecker doesn't underline either), is there a difference in meaning?

    According to AskOxford.com,

    It really doesn't matter: it's a matter of personal taste. Orientated is currently preferred use in general British use. Oriented is prevalent in technical use, and in the US.
    Note, though, that, "oriented" is prevalent in technical use, and since your phrase is in reference to a "forum", oriented-form would be best.
