    Question Doubt with 2nd conditional

When giving examples using the 2nd conditional, am I supposed to write everything in the past or present? For example:

"If I my best friend stopped talking to me, I'd call her and ask her what her problem was/is(?)".

"If the waiter brought me the wrong food, I would complain to the manager and tell him that I was/am(?) disappointed."

    Thanks for your help.

You use past tense forms in such cases.
