    Coming into ears...

    My train of thought was interrupted abruptly as his voice coming into my ears.

    Do I need to add "was" in front of voice in the above sentence?
    I appreciate any suggestion to improve the above sentence.

    You could say 'by his voice coming into my ears', but it doesn't sound very natural. I'd also consider taking out ' abruptly'.
