    Smile Big Permanent

    Hey guys.
I was reading a comic and a guy used the sentence "I send 'em to the big permanent." and I am quite puzzled about it. In the scene, he kills the bad guys he was fighting with, so I think big permanent got something to do with God. Is it right?
Does it means something like "I send them to God"?
    Thanks!!

    Re: Big Permanent

I don't think it has to be God- it could just be death, which is permanent in itself because you don't come back from it. It's not a standard idiom or phrase that I have come across and there don't seem to be examples of it used as an idiom on the net.

    Re: Big Permanent

    Thanks.
This make more sense than god, and Iīm a bit ashamed that I didnīt think about it before.
The character is quite old fashioned, kind of a cowboy, and has a lot of strange expressions.
    Thanks again.

    Re: Big Permanent

You will see 'the big/great ... in the sky' used for heaven, where some word or phrase relevant to the context will be added- after a footballer's death, it could be the big/great cup final in the sky, etc.
