    blind spot/on the spot/to be in a tight spot/weak spot/Johny-on-the-spot

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentences?

1.I couldn't see that truck behind me, Officer, because it was in my blind spot.
2.Blind spots can be eliminated by overlapping side and rear-view mirrors.
blind spot = an area that cannot be seen
3.To put her on the spot.
to put somebody on the spot = to expose somebody to danger
4That reporter has been in many tight spots throughout the world.
to be in a tight spot = to be in a difficult situation.
4.He put his finger on her weak spot.
put o’s finger on somebody’s weak spot = find the point (or character) where he is most open for attack
5.The firemen were Johny-on-the-spot and put out the fire in the house soon after it started.
Johny-on-the-spot = at the right place when needed; present and ready to help; very prompt; on time.

    Thank you for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V.
