    Default introduce

    Hello everyone

I'd like to ask what "introduce" implies in the following context:

I have admired Dr. Zhi Gang Sha's work for some years now. In fact, I clearly remember the first time I heard him describe his soul healing system, Soul Mind Body Medicine. I knew immediately that I wanted to support this gifted healer and his mission, so I introduced him to my spiritual community at Agape.

I have to admit that I'm not sure that I understand correctly what the phrase "I introduced him to my spiritual community" implies.

Does it imply as follows: Dr. Sha, this is my spiritual community or does it imply: This is Dr. Sha (said by this person to his spiritual community)? Or does it imply both?

For example, I can come up to a famous artist with my friend and say to him (artist): Mr. Smith, this is my friend... Or I can say to my friend: This is Mr. Smith. How can I express this difference by using the verb "introduce?"

I think you are misunderstanding 'introduce' here.
It certainly could mean what you say. (And if it does, it means both).
But 'introduce' is used more generally in some contexts.
    Consider these:
He was interested in coin collecting, so I introduced him to my favourite hobby.
Blame Peter for Maria's death. He was the one who introduced her to hard drugs.
A famous yogi introduced me to the idea of reincarnation.

It means to make something known or familar to someone else.

    Thank you very much, Raymott.
