Description:
This is a grammar of English which uses systematic paraphrase as its principal tool for linguistic analysis. Among language arts teachers and most literary critics the term “paraphrase” has lost its application to literal meaning and thereby become eviscerated of its own literal meaning. Our tack is to return to sanity and to science. Linguistics is the science of language and linguistic analysis is a primary activity required of both the author and the student of this work.
